Adikt, the dj who is doing the opening set, is a regular bass-fiend with an eclectic style. We’ll probably start up around 9:30… and Finally, after our set, the night will transform into a house music dance extravaganza, with Mark Starr & Co. spinning into the wee hours…
Massive Carbon Footprint is scheduled to play on Halloween night @ 621 Gallery in RR Square. We’ll be doing it early (6-9pm), and since we have 3 full hours at our disposal, we will be throwing in some eccentric DJ sets in between our band sets. In my book, Mount Kimbie is making some of the most interesting, fresh music around right now. And the fact that they’re coming to humble ol’ Tallahassee is about the most exiting thing I could imagine!!!! The show is this Wednesday (9/29), with Ben Danner and myself supporting… doors open @ 9. I’ll be DJing the opening set, so get there early ! And Get your tickets!!!!
From XLR8R:
“The Music of London-based duo Mount Kimbie, whose unique homespun style incorporates ambient, techno, dubstep, and found sounds, is so difficult to pin down, that when they sent out their first demo, “Paul [Rose, a.k.a. Scuba] was the only person who got back to us,” Dom Maker, one half of the band, informs. But because of that sound, the band seems like a prime candidate to cross over from the dubsteppy associations of their label, the Scuba-run Hotflush Recordings, to broader, more accessible places.”
